The original Without FAME was created in 2007 as a Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne team. In less than three months the team became recognized as a top team in North America and became sponsored. A professional website was created, apparel was designed, and the roster grew stronger.
After a few top three finishes in team leagues, Without FAME expanded and took on a Counter Stirke: Source team. Shortly after picking up the CS:S squad, a few of their players quit after a disappointing result in CAL.
Near the end of 2008, the sponsor pulled out for unknown reasons, and unable to find a new sponsor, some of Without FAME's star players left. Soon after, the website was shut down. The core members who remained continued to play in team leagues for fun as a clan of friends, but Without FAME was no longer a prominent team in North America.
Without FAME has now been remade as a Starcraft II team in April of 2012.
